Republic of Lithuania
Republic of Lithuania is a state situated on the Baltic Sea and borders with Latvia to the north, Belarus to the southeast, Poland, and Russia's Kaliningrad Oblast in the south.

Lithuania is known from 1009. Grand Duchy of Lithuania was one of the biggest countries in the 1400s. In 1569 Lublin was signed, and Poland and Lithuania were united in the Polish-Lithuanian real union. From 1795 to 1918, Lithuania was under Russian.

During the First World War, the area under German control, and under German influence declared the 11 December 1917 Kingdom of Lithuania itself independent of Russia with Duke Wilhelm of Urach, Count of Württemberg, as king under the name Mindaugas II of Lithuania. Lithuania was declared as an independent country 16 February 1918. The country changed to Condition Republic 2 November. After about 1920, Poland occupied Vilnius-Kaunas area was temporary capital.
