Israel
Israel, officially the State of Israel is a country in South Asia, on the southeastern Mediterranean coast. The country is also regarded as part of the Middle East. It borders Lebanon in the north, Syria and Jordan to the east, and Egypt to the southwest, and contains geographically diverse features within its relatively small area. The country also borders the West Bank and Gaza Strip, which is partly administered by the Palestinian Authority and in part still occupied by Israel. With a population of about 7.26 million, where the majority are Jews, Israel is the only Jewish state in the world. Jerusalem is the nation's self-proclaimed capital, but no country recognizes this and does their embassies in Tel Aviv.

Israel has been accused of serious human rights violations and war crimes against the Palestinians.

Although Israel is a relatively small country, is quite varied climatic conditions, especially in winter. The country has temperate climate and is sunny with a rain period from November to April.

From May to September there is very little rainfall in Israel. Because of the limited water resources, Israel has developed various water-saving technologies, including drip irrigation. Israel also uses the possibilities of solar energy, and is the country in the world that uses the most solar energy per capita.

The transport sector in Israel is well developed, and the infrastructure is continuously upgraded to meet the demands of population growth, political factors, Israel's defense, tourism and increased traffic.

The Israel Museum in Jerusalem is one of Israel's most important cultural institutions and houses the Dead Sea scrolls, along with a large collection of Jewish and European art.
