Nepal
Nepal is a state in the Himalayas, sandwiched between India and China.
Nepal was a monarchy, but the king lost in 2006 most of their traditional power. The name was changed that year from the Kingdom of Nepal to Nepal only. In December 2007, by a vote in parliament ruled that the kingdom should be abolished and replaced with a republic form of government. The first meeting of Nepal's Constitutional Assembly officially adopted the declaration on 28 May 2008.

The name Nepal has traditionally been used for the valley around the capital, Kathmandu, Nepal Kathmandu valley or valley. One explanation is that it is derived from the Sanskrit nipa, at the foot of, and Alaya, gods. It is also claimed that it comes from the name of the Newar people, who for thousands of years lived in the Kathmandu Valley (also called the Nepal Valley).

Along the border in the north, ten of the world's 16 highest mountains. Mount Everest, known locally as Sagarmatha, located on the border between Nepal and China. The southern boundary is a long, narrow strip of over 80 mil Norwegian situated in the flat Ganges Delta, mostly below 200 meters above sea level.

Nepal is famous for the wild and beautiful scenery, many valuable ancient monuments (especially in Kathmandu Valley), and a very diverse population who speak over 100 languages and has preserved a lot of old and traditional culture. Nepal's official calendar is called in Nepali Bikram Samwat and has important symbolic value both because it marks Nepal as a state with Hindu culture and stressed that Nepal is different from the rest of the world.
