Tajikistan
Republic of Tajikistan until 1991 known as the Tajik Soviet Socialist Republic, is a country in Central Asia. It has borders with Afghanistan, China, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan. The major cities of Tajikistan's capital Dushanbe, Khujand and then Kulob.

Tajikistan is landlocked, and is the smallest nation in Central Asia by area. The country's border with Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan to the west and north. To the east is the border with China 430 km, and the longest border with another country in the south to Afghanistan 1030 km. In 2011, a century-old border dispute concluded between China and Tajikistan. Tajikistan exhaust 1000 km ² of an area in the Pamir Mountains of China.

The culture of Tajikistan was originally shared with Uzbekistan, but during the Communist rule, the composition of the culture changed by Soviet leaders to introduce artificial boundaries and national government, which was alien to the area. It has not only been devastating indeed, since Tajikistan became known for its theaters and famous novelists in Soviet times. Among these writers were people who worked to refine the Tajik language by tying it more with Persian and removed many Arabic loanwords.

Most citizens of Tajikistan are Muslim. Islam's influence has increased in recent years and was a strong binding force in Tajikistan's struggle against Soviet rule and during the Civil War. Historically attributed much of the Tajik culture of the Persian history of the region. Persian writers, scholars and poets like Ibn Sina, Firdausi, Rudaki and Omar Khayyam is especially held.
