Republic of Uzbekistan
Republic of Uzbekistan is a country in Central Asia that borders Afghanistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Turkmenistan. Main imports are machinery, metal products, light industrial products, foods and chemicals. Major trading partners are Russia, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan and Ukraine.

Main exports include oil, gas, cotton and electricity. The railway network has a total length of 3380 km. The road network has a total length of 78 400 km, where 86% are paved. There are also nine airports with scheduled traffic.

Uzbekistan is a dry country where 10% of the area consists of densely cultivated, irrigated river valleys. It is one of two double land locked country in the world (country borders not to sea and has not neighboring countries bordering the sea), the other being Liechtenstein. In Uzbekistan's case is not as obvious as it borders the two countries (Kazakhstan to the north and Turkmenistan to the south) which has borders with the country locked, but the salty Caspian Sea from where boats can reach the Sea of Azov and thus the Black Sea, the Mediterranean and other seas.

The climate is very dry with a continental feel. Summers are long and hot, winters are short but cold.
