Serbia
Serbia is a country in Europe. The country entered earlier in the state union with Montenegro, which was dissolved 3 June 2006.

Earlier this federation called Yugoslavia, but as of 2003 by the named Serbia and Montenegro. 17. February 2008 rev Kosovo loose from Serbia and declared itself an independent state.

Serbia borders of Bosnia-Herzegovina and Croatia in the west to Hungary in the north, Romania and Bulgaria to the east, and Macedonia, Kosovo and Montenegro to the southeast. The capital is Belgrade.


Serbia's history is a story full of conflicts. The country's strategic location between two continents has made it vulnerable to invasions by many people. Belgrade is believed to have been destroyed by 30 different armies over the years. Serbia has also been subject to the Greeks, the Romans and the Byzantine Empire. In modern history, the country has been an autonomous principality (1817-1878), an independent principality and kingdom (1878-1918), part of the Serbs, Croats' and Slovenes kingdom (1918-1941) (renamed the Kingdom of Yugoslavia in 1929), a lydrike under Nazi Germany (1941-1944), a socialist republic under the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia (1945-1992), a republic under the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia (1992-2003) and a republic in the union Serbia and Montenegro (2003-2006) before country declared its independence as the Republic of Serbia 5 June 2006.
