Manchester
Manchester is an industrial city in northwest England, and the core of the ceremonial county of Greater Manchester. The city has 452,000 inhabitants (2006).

The inhabitants are called Mancunians or Mancs only. Often refers to the entire Greater Manchester, Manchester, but the area consists of several independent cities. It varies between these where residents feel a strong connection to Manchester City, and for example in Salford puts most small price to be discussed as Mancunians.

Beetham Tower (also known as the Hilton Tower) is a landmark 47-storey mixed-use skyscraper in Manchester, England. Completed in 2006, it is named after its developers, the Beetham Organization, and was designed by Ian Simpson. With a height of 168 meters (551 feet), it is the tallest skyscraper in Manchester, the ninth tallest building in the United Kingdom and the highest outside London

The city's football clubs in the Premier League's Manchester United FC and Manchester City FC. The arenas Old Trafford and City of Manchester Stadium is located in the city.

Astonishingly enough, football banned by law in Manchester City in 1608. In 2002 the city hosted the XVII Commonwealth Games.
