Bridgetown
Bridgetown is the capital of the Caribbean island nation of Barbados. Bridgetown is located in the parish of Saint Michael.Bridgetown center was originally composed of a swamp, which was quickly drained and filled in to make way for the city's early development.There Grantley Adams International Airport for Barbados, located 16 km (9.9 km) southeast Bridgetown city center, and has daily flights to major cities in the UK, USA, Canada and the Caribbean.

The city was founded by the British in 1628, and currently has approx. 7000 inhabitants, in addition to over 80 000 inhabitants in the suburbs. They feed mainly on tourism, and also produces sugar, and molasses room.

Bridgetown port is the main gateway for cruise and cargo ships in Barbados.

Route taxis are privately owned minivans that operate as taxis for hire.

Today Bridgetown a modern, thriving city, with access to many modern facilities, including a pipe water supply (said to be naturally among the purest in the world), electricity, gas supply, cutting-edge telecommunications, wireless services, Internet cafes, and a good general infrastructure. The city is also served by an impressive conference facility known as the Sherbourne Conference Centre.

The National Heroes Square, past Trafalgar Square, is a bronze statue of British naval hero Admiral Lord Nelson overlooking the square.
